Solange Selected To Curate Spring Music Series For Brooklyn Academy of Music

This is awesome! Solange Knowles has been selected to curate the Spring Music Series for the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).

The singer’s role will make her responsible for hand-selecting a lineup of performance art, dance, films, concerts, and other pieces for the company’s multi-theater campus. David Binder, BAM’s artist director released a statement about their latest acquisition.

“We’re excited to work with Solange and her Saint Heron collective for this incredible music series of genre-crossing artists presented in unprecedented ways,” he said.

Binder continued, “Her experimental, global, and authentic approach consistently pushes the boundary of what performance can be and charts new pathways for audiences to connect. We can’t wait to see how this transpires on our stages.”

This lineup is expected to be announced soon with performances set to start this upcoming winter. Solange has worked with BAM in 2013 when she was the headliner at the Crossing Brooklyn Ferry music festival.
