There is this healthy fast food restaurant (yes of course those words go together) that I love that has the best chicken strips. I remember the first time I actually paid attention after I said “thank you” when they gave me my food. The cashier’s response was “my pleasure”. It was then I thought hunh “my pleasure” and not “you are welcome”, I never heard that before. One particular visit I didn’t get my entire order at once. They gave me my drink first and I had to wait a few more minutes for my food. When they gave me my drink, I said “thank you”, the cashier said “my pleasure”. Then when they gave me my food I said “thank you”, and the cashier said those words again…. “my pleasure”. I walked away forgetting to ask for extra sauce because I had fries (you know extra sauce is very important). When I went back ……they gave me the extra sauce and i said “thank you” again and the cashier said …”my pleasure”. No matter how many times I said “thank you” the response was “my pleasure” every single time. Hearing “my pleasure” from a person who had given me something revealed where their heart was. It revealed that their heart was willing and that they wanted to serve…not forced to. It wasn’t inconvenient for them to give me what i had been waiting for. Hearing those words spoke to me in so many ways like….. “anytime and anything for you”….. “you are special” and “I would do it again and again.”

I am reminded of our relationship with God. Do we remember to say thank you? We should. Are we grateful? We should be. Did you know when we say thank you to him, his response is “my pleasure”? He loves us so much and he truly wants to bless us. His word says that he delights and takes pleasure in our prosperity. He thought of us first and loved us first. We are on his mind constantly and he wants to bless us over and over again.

Can I tell you the truth? Saying thank you in low points of your life is very important and will bring your spirit back in alignment with his will. Our words have power as the word of god says. I remember being low and hurt in a situation I was in that I could barely speak out loud. And i sat there and began to say “thank you”…”god I thank you”…..”Thank you father”….”Thank you”…”thank you”. Before I knew it the tears began to fall and I could feel the presence of god as I continued to thank him. I literally felt his peace take over and lift me up from within. Thinking back I can only imagine during that time of my thank you worship in the low points he was responding “my pleasure my daughter”. “It is my pleasure to bring you through this.” “I am right here with you holding you.” “I want to fill you.” “take joy my daughter.” I can only imagine this was happening in the spirit while I expressed my gratefulness. Through this experience I learned that I can literally thank my way up and out (as in through) anything.

I encourage you today to get in the grateful position to receive what he wants to give you and don’t forget to say “thank you”. On the other hand, I don’t care what blow comes your way to knock you off your feet. Get in the grateful position and begin to thank him until he pulls you through. He can pull you out of anything…he is god. Trust him!

No matter what place you find yourself in….say “thank you” so you know where his heart is for you. We are not an inconvenience to him. He will respond for he made us and loves us. It is his pleasure to bless and correct us. And it was his absolute pleasure to give us his son Jesus. Never run out of thank you’s because his pleasure is eternal. Things will shift in us and we are reminded of his faithfulness towards us when we say……thank you!

Prayer: father I just want to say thank you. Forgive me for displaying any ungratefulness in my life. I trust you and I lift all areas of concern to you right now. I will say thank you when all is well. I will say thank you when I feel I can’t make it because you are right with me through it all. I will continue to say thank you for I know it is your good pleasure to bless me and I know you correct who you love. I fully understand that saying thank you reveals your heart towards me. I yield myself and give total thanks to you now. Amen.
