About Topdog/Underdog:

Suzan-Lori Parks, the playwright who won a 2002 Pulitzer Prize for her Topdog/Underdog is bringing the play back to Broadway this fall.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece Topdog/Underdog, stars two of hollywoods heavy hitters Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) and Yayha Abdul-Mateen (Candyman 2021)!

Directed by Kenny Leon, Topdog/Underdog, is a comic fable of brotherly love and family identity. It tells the story of two brothers, Lincoln and Booth, names given to them as a joke by their father. Haunted by the past and their obsession with the street con game, three-card monte, the brothers come to learn the true nature of their history.

The New York times calls it “A vibrant comic drama of shifting identity and betrayal. The ferociously talented Ms.Parks plays with distorting perceptions with commanding intelligence and indirection.”

This play will be the broadway debut for Yayha Abdul-Mateen who has previously starred in Us, Candyman, and Aquaman. Corey Hawkins, is no stranger to the broadway stage. He started his acting career in broadway upon graduating with his Bachelors in Fine Arts and eventually landed roles such as Straight Outta Compton, BlacKkKlansman, and In the Heights.

The 16 week limited play starts September 27th and concludes in January 2022: https://topdogunderdog.com/tickets/
