Thousands of people invaded New York’s Jacob Javits Convention Center this weekend to celebrate our annual #CircleOfSisters expo. Hundreds of vendors were set up for our listeners to peruse and purchase everything their hearts desired. But the biggest weekend highlight was the R&B LIVE Concert last night (Sept. 30), and according to New York’s Sweetheart, Shaila, “It was lit!”

Your favorite R&B acts from the ’90s hit the stage at New Jersey’s Prudential Center including 702, Tamia, Brandy, Dru Hill, Stokley from Mint Condition, and New Edition’s latest spin-off, RBRM!

The ladies from 702 kicked things off as they performed “Where My Girls At?,” “No Doubt,” and “Steelo.” Then Brandy took center stage and brought the crowd to their feet as she bellowed the lyrics to her 2012 single, “Wildest Dreams” followed by a soulful rendition of “Almost Doesn’t Count.”

Although the women held it down, Stokley didn’t come play. The Mint Condition member took the spotlight and showed off his vocals and killer moves as he danced across the stage and reminded the crowd what Mint Condition was all about.

And the night just got better and better.

Dru Hill came out crooning over their classics. And Sisqo reminded fans why they enter the dragon every time they come to see the group transcend the stage into a slew of sonic memories with songs like “Beauty” and “How Deep is Your Love.”

Tamia performed a plethora of hits including “So Into You,” and she refused to leave the stage before singing “Stranger in Your House.” Passionately sung, Tamia dropped to her knees as she poured heart out to the crowd.

Of course the night couldn’t wrap without Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, and Mike better – known as RBRM – rocking out to nearly four decades of chart-topping hits – starting with Bobby’s “My Prerogative.”

And the self-proclaimed Bad Boy of R&B made sure to show the audience that he’s still got it before the group bid farewell!

What a night!

If you weren’t in the building, you definitely missed out. But don’t worry, the next one’s only 365 days away!
