After recently being arrested for a DUI, actress and comedian, Tiffany Haddish did what she does best: make jokes about the situation.
At a stand-up gig in Laugh Factory of Long Beach, Calif. last week, she touched on the news. She was found asleep at the wheel while her car engine was running.
“What happened last night?” Haddish said. “Ah, damn. You tell me. I don’t know.”
Continuing to make light of the situation, Haddish said that it was an answer to her prayers.
“I prayed to God to send me a man with a job, preferably in a uniform,” she said. “God answered my prayers. Because God believes in me.”
Haddish has previously been arrested for a DUI in the state of Georgia. In 2022, after being released, she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon the same evening. “I can say this, Jimmy,” she said to Fallon “I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four… in uniform.”
“And now I got a really great lawyer, and we’re going to work it out,” she continued. “I’ve got to get my asking of things to God a little better!”
