TV One Set To Launch Network for Women

TV One plans to expand its network by creating a channel that will focus on just women. According to reports, the channel will be titled, ‘Cleo’ or ‘Chleo.’

Already in the works, TV One plans on releasing this new channel sometime this year by creating new shows both non-scripted and scripted. In a press release, the network states:

“BET was really able to capitalize off of BET Her. TV One wants to expand its programming and target a female audience too.”

TV One is a venture of Radio One, Inc., the largest radio broadcaster primarily targeting African American and urban listeners, and Comcast Corporation, the largest cable operator in the country, along with Bear Stearns’ Constellation Ventures, Syndicated Communications and Opportunity Capital Partners.
