Tyler Perry Calls The New Georgia Voter Law Unconstitutional + Calls For The Department Of Justice To Step In

Tyler Perry is not happy with Georgia and the state’s new voter law.

Recently, Governor Brian Kemp signed the legislation that will place more restrictions on local voters. These restrictions include limiting the number of ballot drop boxes available and making it against the law to provide voters in line with food and water.

Tyler Perry is speaking out against this law. According to reports, he said, “As a Georgia resident and business owner I’ve been here a few times with the anti-abortion bill and the LGBTQ discrimination bill. They all sent a shockwave through Georgia and the nation but none of them managed to succeed.”

Others are also protesting this new law. Representative Park Cannon was arrested for protesting the law as Kemp was signing it. Stacey Abrams called the law a reminder of Georgia’s dark past,” and President Joe Biden said the law was the “Jim Crow in the 21st Century.”

Perry also said, “I’m resting my hope in the DOJ taking a hard look at this unconstitutional voter suppression law that harkens to the Jim Crow era.”

What are your thoughts on this law and Tyler Perry’s stance against it?
