The heart of Harlem was the place to be at on Sunday. The 49th annual African American Day Parade happened and the love of Black Culture was in the air.

The festivities kicked off at 1pm, starting from West 111th street along Adam Clayton Powell BLVD and ending at West 136th street. The parade displayed a lot of community locals as well as legends that many of the attendees loved to see, having a great time, singing, dancing and applauding the participants as they marched down the street.

Our very own DJ Mitch “The People Plezzer” was keeping the crowd entertained while on set, and Doctor Bob Lee was one of the announcers of the event along with Olivia of O Media Girl. The parade started with The Voice’s own Felicia Temple singing the “Negro National Anthem”,  police horses, a tribute to WBLS’s founder Hal Jackson and the marching of the parade ambassadors which included our very own Ann Tripp, DJ Red Alert and Cynthia Smith and so much more.

Take a look at the photos and videos below.
