West Hollywood city council has unanimously voted to remove Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The motion was passed on Monday night, due to ‘Trump’s disturbing treatment of women and other actions.’

Unfortunately, the council has no full control over the Walk of Fame and the decision for removal. Instead the council will send a formal letter to the overseeing bodies for consideration. Some believe it will unlikely be removed because no star has been removed, ever.

Folks protested for the removal of Bill Cosby’s star back in 2015 and Leron Gubler, the president and chief executive of the chamber released this statement:

‘Once a star has been added to the walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the walk.’

John D’Amico, West Hollywood Mayor pro tempore, defends the vote on saying it was not about politics but principles.

‘The West Hollywood City Council did not pass the resolution because Donald Trump is a conservative or a Republican.  Earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is an honor. When one belittles and attacks minorities, immigrants, and people with disabilities or women – the honor no longer exists.’
