WHAT AN AMAZING SUPER SATURDAY – CIRCLE OF SISTERS EXPO 2018 [VIDEO]

On Saturday, September, 29th, star power was in full effect as the tri-state’s largest expo for people of color returned to the Jacob Javits Center, in New York City. Circle of Sisters Expo 2018, in association with AARP New York.

Hosted by WBLS 107.5 FM, 1190 WLIB AM, and WQHT HOT 97 FM, this super Saturday, extravaganza, was an experience like no other.

Circle of Sisters, event goers were treated to intimate panel discussions, like “Dating, Marriage, Love & The Internet: How to Make it All Work”, sponsored by The BLK App. Entertainers like gospel duo, David and Tamela Mann, reality star, Kenya Moore, Boss Bride author Charreah K. Jackson and more provided an up close and personal setting as they analyzed the dating scene in a digital world.

Star power, was also in full effect in the Spectrum Digital Lounge. Circle of Sister’s superstars hit the Spectrum couch and gave us the inside scoop on what they’ve been up to and explained the importance of having an event like Circle of Sisters. Attendees also enjoyed exclusive one on one interviews with celebrities like king of R&B, the legendary Bobby Brown and WBLS host, Deja Vu. And panels that only needed one celebrity to command the room, like Wendy Williams’s #AskWendy segment, live, on the main stage.

The Circle of Sisters Expo also showcased informative Breakout Sessions. These enlightening and inspiring mini-conferences, covered a variety of topics, from how to build the better you, with Deja Vu’s “Ignite Your Hustle: Goals * Action * Plans * Results” sponsored by the US Army panel, to  Shaila’s “Mommies, Millennials,” Sponsored by MetroPlus Health Plan. The insightful, heartfelt panel focused on generations coming together, women young and seasoned fighting for equality. It also provided mothers seeking guidance on how to communicate with their older children. Take take a look at a few clips from each panel below.

The Javits Center was brought to life with live music on the MetroPlus Performance Stage. COS attendees were treated to full-on, concert-like, production from some of the most powerful acts in R&B, who kept the crowd moving and grooving to a beat, that only Circle of Sisters could provide. Watch below as  the legendary R&B group, En Vogue performs to a packed and energized crowd.

We want to send a big thank you to AARP NY, for hosting iconic rapper, MC Lyte, at their booth. AARP NY brought out fun, games, and Star Power to the Circle of Sisters Expo.

Then, of course, the evening was closed out to the soulful sounds of the sold out, MetroPCS Gospel Explosion. Concert goers experienced electrifying performances by BeBe Winans, Korn Hawthorne Charles Jenkins Brian Courtney Wilson and Miranda Curtis and Byron Cage.  Hosted by Donnie McClurkin and our very own Neicy Tribbett and Liz Black. Their triumphant and soulful voices brought the crowd to their feet and lifted spirits to the sky. Take a look below and feel the energy.

The magic of Circle of Sisters was in the air this weekend and experienced by all who attended. The Super Saturday Expo showcased live performances, exciting panels, celebrity appearances, an amazing fashion show, with over 200 vendors and small businesses, selling unique items and services, all day long. Circle of Sisters moving, changing, growing.
