DRAMA!The king and queen of comedy, Mo’Nique and D.L. Hughley, are going at it over a miscommunication from a contract. The two legends had a show at the Comedy Explosion in Detroit over the weekend. Mo’Nique became a trending topic after a video went viral of Mo’Nique saying some harsh words to D.L. According to Mo’Nique, she was supposed to headline the show but didn’t. She told the crowd, “That’s what the motherf*cking contract says…Mo’Nique is to be the last motherf*cking person on the got damn stage. She is the headliner. That’s what I signed the contract for.” In a different video, Mo’Nique asked the audience, “What type of n*gga would ever attack a black woman?! A b*tch ass n*gga!” In addition, Mo says D.L. said negative things about her while on a previous tour. In a lengthy I.G. post, he said he was the headliner. He wrote, “All you have to do is check the order of names on the ticket stub from last night and you’ll see who’s confused. Against my better judgment, over the objections of my team and 4 other occasions where I said NO, I decided to take a chance and work with Monique.” Then D.L. brought up past issues Mo’Nique had with other people, some have since been resolved. D.L. continued, “Oprah was the problem, Tyler Perry was the problem, was the problem, Steve Harvey was the problem, Lee Daniels was the problem, Netflix was the problem… Now it’s MY turn. At some [point], it can’t be everyone else, I.T.’S YOU!! Lesson learned.” He ended with, “I didn’t have anything personal against Monique… People paid a lot of money to laugh, not hear about your contract. Apparently, the role you played in PRECIOUS turned out to be an autobiography. I wonder who’s next.” Take a look:https://www.instagram.com/p/CeKGrS5vppp/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Hopefully the two can let go of the issue. Earlier this year, 50 Cent came out in defense of Mo’Nique. He told Tyler Perry and Oprah that they owed Mo’Nique an apology. 50 Cent also vowed to give Mo work on camera, so fans can expect to see more of her.
