A judge has decided to throw out a restraining order that was placed on Dr. Dre by his former marriage counselor.
Last month, we reported that the producer’s former marriage counselor, Dr. Charles Sophy was granted a temporary restraining order against him for threatening him via text messages. Dre was also hit with a $10 million civil harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress lawsuit.
The judge’s ruling came on Tuesday, Nov. 5th after it was stated that Sophy’s protection did not meet the “burden of proof.” According to the court documents, Los Angeles County Judge Melanie Ochoa said, “The court finds the party requesting the order of protection did not sustain the applicable burden of proof and accordingly the request is denied. Any temporary restraining order earlier issued is hereby dissolved.”
Dr. Dre has admitted to sending strongly worded text messages but has denied that any of the messages were threatening. Although the restraining order has been dropped, Sophy’s lawsuit is still pending and no decision has been made.
