Shannon Sharpe has been hit with a hefty lawsuit after being accused of sexual assault and battery over the weekend.
Reports state that the former NFL player is being accused by a woman who is going under the name Jane Doe and is being represented by Tony Buzbee. In the lawsuit, Doe states that she was in a “rocky consensual relationship” with Sharpe for nearly two years. She also claims that they often engaged in sexual activities that were recorded by Sharpe without her knowledge or permission.
Last year Shannon Sharpe went viral after he accidentally went on Instagram Live while engaging in sexual intercourse. Sharpe has not responded to the allegations yet.
However, Jane Doe’s allegations are around the time between late 2024 to early 2025. “Late last night, The Buzbee Law Firm filed a civil lawsuit on behalf of a brave young woman who alleges she was brutally sexually assaulted by former NFL player Shannon Sharpe on multiple occasions, the last incident occurring in January 2025,” Buzbee wrote in a statement. “The lawsuit filed under the pseudonym “Jane Doe” lays out a pattern of intimidation, manipulation, and abuse, including allegations that Sharpe repeatedly threatened to choke and slap Jane Doe. The case seeks $50 million in damages.”
The statement went on to say, “The case is on file in Department 11, Clark County State Court, Nevada, the county where the alleged conduct occurred. The egregious and concerning facts of the case are set forth in detail in the public filing. I’m extremely proud to represent Jane Doe. It takes a great deal of courage to stand up against those with power, fame and money. I look forward to pressing this case in court.”
