There’s no place like home.

Katt Williams is being honored in his hometown of Cincinnati with a street renaming in his childhood neighborhood.

Jan Michelle Lemon Kearney, the Vice-Mayor of Cincinnati,  announced that a ceremony would take place on Saturday (April 19)  for the street sign unveiling.

Kearney and other local officials, like Avondale Community Council President Sandra Jones Mitchell, paid tribute to Williams at the event.

“We are so proud to honor Katt Williams today—not just for his talent, but for the way he continues to represent Avondale and Cincinnati wherever he goes,” Kearney said.

Fellow comedians Mo’Nique, Tommy Davidson, Mark Curry,  and Redd Grant were also present.

When it was time for him to close out the event with his final, the moment was not lost on the iconic comedian.

“Even as a young person growing up here, I understood that names meant something. And so, I understood that Cincinnati must’ve been a great place because it had such a long name,” Williams said. “I thought it was a special place. I thought that great people came from here, I thought the girls were good-looking, I thought the guys were smart. I thought this was a place [where] you could really do something and make somebody proud.”

“I grew up right here, walked these same streets. To see this? It’s a full circle moment,” Williams added.

Over his illustrious career, the Emmy-winning comedian is widely regarded as one of the best comedians ever. He released several acclaimed standup specials, including Katt Williams Live (2006), Katt Williams: American Hustle (2007), Katt Williams: It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’ (2008), Katt Williams: Great America (2018), and Katt Williams: World War III (2022)  just to name a few.

In film, he’s appeared in Friday After Next, Norbit, First Sunday, and One of Them Days.
