Angela Simmons has officially ended her relationship with rapper Yo Gotti. In a revealing interview on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast released June 18, the entrepreneur confirmed the split after nearly three years together.
“No, I’m not with him,” Simmons said. “Not by choice, but I respect him. It’s all love.”
She described the decision as what “was best,” even though it wasn’t something she would have chosen. She added:
“I wouldn’t have chose it, but it was what was best… I can publicly say that I’m not with him anymore,” she said.
Reflecting on Love and Letting Go
Simmons explained that she tends to fully invest in her relationships.
“I’m a lover, I love love. I love relationships,” she shared.
When pressed about the ending, she revealed the breakup was her decision.
“I had to make a decision,” though she declined to go into detail. “Some stuff is just better left unsaid… I’m just not that girl.”
Speculation began weeks ago after Simmons took to social media with cautionary posts. One IG story read:
“I want what wants me in life… what flows FLOWS. What goes GOES.”
At the same time, Yo Gotti posted a solo travel photo with the caption “Lonely in London,” further sparking rumors.
A Three-Year Chapter Comes to a Close
The couple confirmed their relationship in late 2022. Since then, they attended high-profile events, including the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards . Rumors began circulating in October 2024 when Simmons appeared wearing a large diamond ring, prompting engagement speculation.
Their relationship featured moments of public affection—her appearances in his music video and his public praise of her in songs such as Down in the DM.
