Tracy Morgan believes that it’s better to give than to receive. This holiday season, the legendary comedian is showing his generosity.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Morgarn shares his charitable efforts to help families in need.

“I fed 19,000 families,” Morgan said. He’s “donated more than $200,000 to support vulnerable households through his work with the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation.”

“It’s fun to get the love and support, but it’s better when you give it back,” Morgan explained. “That’s what I want to teach my children. More than a great education, I just want [Maven] and her brothers to be empathic.”

Morgan also shared how being with his family is the most important thing in the world to him.

“At this point in my life, spending [time] with my children,” he said. “That’s it. I don’t care about nothing else in this world.”

Morgan shares his 12-year-old daughter, Maven Sonae, with his ex-wife, Megan Wollover. His sons, Gitrid, 39, Malcolm, 38, and Tracy Jr., 34, shared with ex-wife Sabina Morgan. She passed away from cancer in 2016.

Morgan said his perspective changed after the 2014 highway crash that left him in critical condition. His friend James McNair was killed in the accident.

“Just when you thought you was doing bad, there’s people out there doing worse,” Morgan said. “So I feel fortunate.”

Morgan is also as busy as ever. Currently, he’s starring in Crutch, a spinoff of the CBS hit comedy The Neighborhood on Paramount+. In the sitcom. Morgan plays Cedric the Entertainer’s cousin, Francois “Frank” Crutchfield, a beloved Harlem shop owner whose two kids move back home with him

Morgan will also reunite with his 30 Rock costar Tina Fey, on a new NBC comedy, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. He plays a disgraced former football player opposite Daniel Radcliffe.

“You gotta have fun,” he says of deciding on projects.
