For the first time in history, Snoop Dogg has been named an “honorary coach” for Team USA at next year’s Winter Olympics.
On Thursday (Dec 10), the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), announced that Snoop Dogg joined Team USA as its first Honorary Coach—a volunteer role celebrating and supporting America’s athletes off the field of play.
In the role , Coach Snoop will be among several people, the staff, other coaches, & administrators who help athletes chase their dreams and inspire the nation. Known for his passion for community, mentorship and elevating young people, Snoop will lend his signature humor and heart to help motivate Team USA athletes on their road to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 and beyond.
Snoop Dogg had a big presence for the U.S during the summer Games in Paris last year, serving as a special correspondent for broadcaster NBC’s Olympics coverage, as well as performing at the handover ceremony for Los Angeles 2028.
“Team USA athletes are the real stars—I’m just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines,” said Coach Snoop. “This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that’s a win for me.”
For years, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper has given back to youth sports with his own organization. His Snoop Youth Football League has supported more than 15,000 young athletes, including youth with disabilities, helping them grow and thrive.
The Winter Games take place in Milan and Cortina, Italy, from February 6-22.
USOPC said Snoop Dogg “brings his trademark energy, humor and heart” to help motivate and inspire US athletes, while the organization’s chief executive officer Sarah Hirshland said the hip-hop star’s “enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic movement is contagious”.
