Tiger Woods says he is still working toward a return to competitive golf, even as ongoing injuries continue to test his patience.

Speaking about his recovery, Woods made clear that progress has been steady but difficult. “I’m trying [to come back], put it that way,” he said.

The 15-time major champion has dealt with multiple health setbacks in recent years. Those include a serious car crash in 2021 and persistent back problems. He has undergone several procedures, including spinal fusion and a disc replacement.

“It’s been a challenge … I’ve had a fused back and now a disc replacement,” Woods said.

Woods’ comments come as fans and analysts watch closely for signs of a possible return to major competition. His limited appearances in recent seasons have kept expectations cautious.

Recovery Remains the Focus

Woods said his daily routine centers on rehabilitation and gradual improvement. He emphasized that progress comes one step at a time.

“Each and every day, I keep trying, I keep progressing,” he said.

The physical demands of elite golf remain significant, especially after major surgeries. Woods has repeatedly noted that building strength and endurance takes time.

His careful approach reflects lessons learned from past comebacks. Woods has returned from injury before, including his remarkable 2019 Masters victory. Still, he has acknowledged that this phase of recovery presents new obstacles.

Observers say Woods continues to influence the sport even when he is not competing regularly. Tournament crowds often swell when he appears, and television ratings tend to rise.

Eyes on Future Possibilities

When asked whether a future appearance at the Masters was ruled out, Woods offered a brief but notable response: “No.”

That answer has fueled speculation that he could attempt another return to Augusta National if his health allows. Woods has said he remains motivated by the challenge of competition.

While he has not outlined a firm schedule, his comments suggest he is leaving the door open. Those close to the sport note that Woods has become more selective about when he plays.

His focus appears to be on long-term health rather than rushing back. The approach reflects a shift from earlier stages of his career, when he often played through pain.

Fans continue to express support for Woods as he navigates recovery. Many see his perseverance as part of his enduring legacy.

For now, Woods said the priority is simple: keep working and see where the progress leads.
