The political thriller “Paradise,” starring Sterling K. Brown, has been renewed for a third season, Disney+ announced Tuesday. The series, created by Dan Fogelman, continues to build momentum as its second season unfolds.

The show, produced by 20th Television, follows Secret Service agent Xavier Collins navigating a post-apocalyptic world. The story centers on survivors living in a massive underground bunker after a global catastrophe.

Disney+ confirmed the renewal as the second season approaches its finale later this month. The series has drawn strong viewership, with tens of millions of hours streamed globally.

Brown, who also serves as an executive producer, announced the news in a video shared on social media. “Secrets can’t be contained forever. PARADISE will return for a third season,” he wrote.

A Planned Ending Takes Shape

While the renewal signals continued success, the third season may mark the show’s conclusion. The creative team has long indicated a three-season arc for the story.

Executive producer John Hoberg said, “We know what the end is, and it’s an end that would make it very difficult to make a season four.”

Fogelman, known for “This Is Us,” has structured the series with a defined narrative endpoint. Industry reports suggest the third season will resolve major plotlines introduced in earlier episodes.

The show’s layered storytelling blends political intrigue with emotional drama. Critics have praised its performances and evolving scope, particularly Brown’s portrayal of Xavier.

Strong Reception and Awards Recognition

“Paradise” has maintained critical acclaim since its debut in 2025. The first season earned four Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.

Brown received multiple nominations for his performance, including recognition from the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards. The series also holds a high rating on review platforms, reflecting strong audience reception.

The second season expands the narrative beyond the bunker, exploring how survivors rebuilt society after the disaster. New characters and shifting alliances have added complexity to the story.

With the renewal, “Paradise” joins a growing list of high-profile streaming dramas with planned endings. The strategy reflects a broader industry trend toward tightly structured storytelling.

Production details for the third season have not been fully announced. However, the creative team is expected to return, along with much of the main cast.
