Kerry Washington will always be Olivia Pope, although her 11-year-old daughter didn’t recognize the name.

During an episode of Call Her Daddy, Washington revealed that a fan at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour called her by her “Scandal” character’s name. When her daughter heard, she had no idea who the fans were addressing.

”We were walking through the crowd,” Washington recalled. “People were like, ‘Olivia!’ And she was like, ‘Who is Olivia?’ She was like, ‘What? Who do they think you are? Like, that is not your name.’”

”I think that was like the one moment where she was like, ‘My mom might be slightly cool,’” Washington continued.

Created by Shonda Rhimes, “Scandal” follows Olivia Pope (Washington), a former White House Communications Director who opens her own premier crisis management firm in Washington, D.C. With her dedicated team of “Gladiators in Suits.” For seven seasons, Scandal was a cultural phenomenon as fans tuned in to watch Pope’s exploits and her long-running affair with President Fitz, played by Tony Goldwyn.

Elsewhere in the interview,  Washington revealed the steamiest moment between Pope and Fitz happened in season 3’s “Vermont is for Lovers, Too.” Directed by Ava DuVernay, Pope and Fitz got away from the drama of D.C. to imagine what their lives together could be.

WASHINGTON IS STARRING IN ‘IMPERFECT WOMEN’ ON APPLE TV

For her latest project, Washington is starring and executive producing “Imperfect Women.” The limited series centers on three women—Eleanor (Washington), Mary (Elisabeth Moss), and Nancy (Kate Mara)—who have been inseparable friends for decades, but tragedy rips everything apart.

Their lives are shattered when Nancy is found murdered, an event that forces the surviving friends to confront the fact that they may not have known each other as well as they thought. As the investigation unfolds, the series deconstructs their “perfect” lives to reveal a messy web of secrets, resentments, and betrayals.

“Imperfect Women” is currently airing on Apple TV.
