A Florida woman accused of opening fire at the home of global music star Rihanna pleaded not guilty Wednesday to attempted murder and multiple firearm-related charges, authorities said.

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, entered the plea through her attorney during an arraignment in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Prosecutors allege Ortiz carried out a shooting earlier this month at the Beverly Hills-area residence shared by Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky.

Allegations Detail Gunfire at Occupied Home

Authorities said the March 8 incident involved a barrage of gunfire directed at the property while several people were inside. Prosecutors allege Ortiz fired roughly 20 rounds from an AR-15-style rifle at exterior structures and nearby dwellings.

At the time, Rihanna, her partner, their children, and other individuals were on the premises, though no injuries were reported.

Ortiz faces one count of attempted murder along with multiple counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and shooting at occupied dwellings. If convicted on all charges, she could face a life sentence, prosecutors said.

Deputy District Attorney Alexander Bott described the incident as a serious public safety threat. He said in court, “This case involves a dangerous, deliberate shooting into occupied homes.”

Authorities allege Ortiz was arrested hours after the shooting. Investigators said she was found in a vehicle with the rifle, ammunition, and a disguise.

Court Proceedings and Ongoing Investigation

Ortiz appeared in custody and spoke briefly during the hearing. Her attorney entered the not guilty plea on her behalf and requested a reduction in bail.

The judge denied that request and ordered Ortiz to remain jailed on bail set at nearly $2 million.

Prosecutors argued she poses a significant flight risk and danger to the community. The defense has not publicly commented on the allegations.

Officials said investigators are still working to determine a motive. Authorities are also reviewing social media activity believed to be connected to Ortiz in the days leading up to the shooting.

It remains unclear whether Ortiz had any direct relationship with Rihanna or her family. Prosecutors declined to elaborate on possible connections, citing the ongoing investigation.

Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy Award winner and founder of Fenty Beauty, has not publicly addressed the incident.

Ortiz is scheduled to return to court for further proceedings as the case moves toward a preliminary hearing.
