Cardi B is embracing honesty about her dating life, even as public scrutiny continues to follow her every move.

During a recent conversation on X Spaces, the Grammy-winning rapper responded to fans urging her to remain single. Instead, she made it clear that romance is still part of her future. While discussing her relationships, Cardi also admitted her judgment in choosing partners has not always been perfect.

“Could I pick better men? Probably. Maybe. So, whatever,” she said.

The candid remark came days after Cardi sparked dating speculation following public outings with Nigerian soccer player Maduka Okoye. Those appearances quickly fueled online conversation. They also prompted renewed attention surrounding her personal life. Reports soon followed involving allegations made publicly by Okoye’s former partner. Okoye has not publicly responded to those claims. Cardi has not confirmed any romantic relationship with him.

Cardi Pushes Back Against Calls to Stay Single

Cardi spent much of the X Spaces conversation addressing fans who believe she should avoid dating altogether.

“I’ve been seeing some suggestions and y’all be like, ‘Oh, I want her to be single. I want her to be focused on herself. I want her to be this.’ B****, I’m not going to be single for the rest of my life,” she said.

The rapper explained that she had intentionally stayed single throughout her “Little Miss Drama” tour. She said she focused on work during that period before eventually deciding she wanted companionship again.

“I was single throughout my whole tour,” she said, adding that she briefly revisited a past relationship before walking away again.

Cardi acknowledged that dating as a global celebrity presents unique challenges. She said every relationship becomes public discussion almost immediately. That attention often extends beyond her and onto anyone she spends time with.

She also suggested that controversy tends to follow the people linked to her. Cardi joked that former partners or outside drama frequently surface whenever she begins getting to know someone new.

Living Publicly While Protecting Her Peace

Cardi’s comments arrive after several years of highly publicized relationships. She previously shared an on-and-off marriage with rapper Offset before filing for divorce. More recently, she was romantically linked to NFL star Stefon Diggs. Neither relationship escaped intense public attention.

Despite criticism, Cardi insisted she has no interest in letting social media dictate her personal choices.

She rejected the idea that remaining single forever is the healthiest path simply because others recommend it.

“The p**** needs love too,” she said while explaining that companionship remains important to her life.

Still, the rapper balanced that statement with self-awareness. Her admission that she “could pick better men” stood out because it acknowledged criticism she has often dismissed in the past.

Rather than pretending every relationship has been successful, Cardi openly recognized that some decisions deserved a second look.

Even so, she appeared unwilling to let past disappointments prevent future happiness.

For Cardi, dating remains a personal decision, regardless of public opinion. She believes finding love should not require sacrificing privacy or living according to internet expectations.

Her latest comments reflect someone navigating fame, motherhood and relationships simultaneously. They also show a celebrity increasingly comfortable laughing at herself while defending her right to pursue happiness on her own terms.

Whether fans agree with her choices or not, Cardi made one point unmistakably clear. She plans to keep living life on her own terms, even if that means learning a few lessons along the way.
