Chaka Khan is not feeling the sex stylings of pop singers.

Appearing on the Table Manners podcast, the legendary singer did not hold back on what she thinks about today’s singers.

“These women are doing any and every damn thing on stage. And trying to sing, too,” Khan said. “The ones that are doing the most physicalities — their butts and stuff, and their body parts — are the ones that usually are compensating for what they don’t have.”

“The game has changed,” she said. “All bets are off.”

According to the “I’m Every Woman” singer, the purpose of a live show is to deliver a strong vocal performance.

“I came to sing, and I came to really do a good job,” she said. “And that’s hard work. I don’t feel like it’s hard work once I’m doing it. I feel great.”

“It’s not rocket science for me,” she said. “I’ve never had a singing teacher who was on the road for me. We do warm up, though.”

This isn’t the first time that Khan has shared her harsh critiques of singers. In 2023, she blasted Rolling Stone‘s 200 Greatest Singers list, where she was ranked 29th.

“These people don’t quantify or validate me in any way,” Khan said on The Originals podcast.

She also took issue with Mary J. Blige, who placed 25th on the list. She called Rolling Stone‘s editors blind and added, “They need hearing aids.”

When she discovered that Mariah Carey and Adele were ranked fifth and 22nd on the list, she wasn’t feeling that either.

“That must be payola or some s*** like that, she said about Mariah.

After learning that Adele was ahead of her, she responded, “OK. I quit.”

Khan did agree with Aretha Franklin was ranked #1.

“As she f***ing should be! Thank you, there’s some f***ing justice,” she exclaimed.
