Muni Long allowed us to get a bit personal with her during this “Off The Record”.
For those of you who don’t know who Muni Long (pronounced Money Long) is, she’s the voice behind the hit song “Hrs & Hrs”. According to Long, the idea for the hit song came about when she was washing dishes one night.
She decided to look for beats on Youtube to put the lyrics to and once she found it, she wrote the song in 20 minutes. The song would quickly go viral on TikTok, creating a new lane for the singer.
If that doesn’t tell you who she is, you recognize her for her songwriting abilities. Under her real name Priscilla Renea, she has written “Don’t Wake Me Up” by Chris Brown, “California King Bed” by Rihanna, and has done some work on H.E.R’s Back of My Mind album, which earned her a Grammy nomination.
