This week, Bike New York announced that registration for the 48th edition of the TD Five Boro Bike Tour is officially open. Scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026, the Tour is the largest cycling event in the United States and the world’s biggest charitable bike ride, drawing 32,000 riders from all 50 states and more than 40 countries.

For one extraordinary day each year, the Tour lets riders experience New York City in a way that’s only possible on two wheels — 40 miles of car-free streets through all five boroughs. Cyclists of all ages and abilities roll past iconic landmarks, cross bridges, and culminate their ride at a lively Finish Festival on Staten Island.

“The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is more than just a ride,”said Ken Podziba, CEO and President of Bike New York. “It’s a one-of-a-kind chance to take in New York’s landmarks and neighborhoods from the best vantage point—on two wheels—while creating memories that last a lifetime and joining a movement that’s opening cycling to everyone.”

Proceeds from the Tour support Bike New York’s free education and advocacy programs, which serve tens of thousands of New Yorkers each year, including:

  •    Bike Path, a workforce development program that equips formerly incarcerated individuals with the skills to become bike mechanics and secure good-paying jobs maintaining Citi Bike’s fleet.
  •     Youth programs that create the next generation of cyclists through Learn to Ride classes, safe cycling instruction, and group rides.
  • Advocacy initiatives promoting safer, more equitable streets across New York City.

Whether you’re a first-timer, a seasoned rider, or traveling from across the globe, the TD Five Boro Bike Tour offers an unforgettable way to experience New York City: on two wheels, car-free, and alongside 32,000 fellow cyclists.
