Anthony Anderson says an interview he did with Lindsey Lohan when she was 17 years old was done in poor taste.
The interview took place in 2003, when the actor was a guest host on “The Sharon Osbourne Show.” Clips of the interview, recently resurfaced online, show Anderson making controversial comments to Lohan.
The Freaky Friday star had shared that she had just purchased a home with fellow Disney star, Raven-Symoné, to which the Black-ish star asked, “What gentlemen will be at the new pad?”
Lohan responded that no one would be staying with her and clarified that she did not have a boyfriend. “She’s single but still looking,” Anderson, who was 33 at the time, said to the audience. Lohan chimed in and said, “But I’m illegal for people that are old.” Anderson added, “Some men like them young. We ain’t gonna mention no names, but I’m one of them.”
A rep for Anderson said in a statement addressing the interview, “This interview was clearly intended as comedy. He regrets if the humor was in poor taste and maintains the utmost respect for Lindsay. Any implication to the contrary is both inaccurate and potentially defamatory.”
The clips of the interview come as Lohan is promoting her new movie, Freakier Friday, the sequel to the hit movie, Freaky Friday, which will be in theaters on August 8th.
