Deion Sanders Said He Gave Karrueche Tran The Option To Leave Him

Deion Sanders gave his girlfriend Karrueche Tran an “out” amid his health battle with bladder cancer.

The Colorado coach was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer during a routine check-up last spring. Earlier this week, Sanders shared a video with him sitting next to Tran discussing their relationship.

Tran opens the video clip saying, ‘That’s not the type of person I am. If I dipped I would’ve taken the easy way out’”

““That’s why I’m here,” Tran said.

“Yeah to enjoy the fruits,” Deion joked.

Tran quickly corrects him, adding that their connection was divinely ordained.

“I didn’t say that” she said. “To help you live life and experience new things. ’Cause that’s what I love too. To travel and do different things. We meet halfway.”

“Why else did God bring you to me?” Deion, 58, asked.

“Because he knew that we needed each other,” Tran, 37, replied. “Especially last year. He knew that we were able to tackle that together and even though you told me you don’t have to stay you can leave. You don’t have to deal with it.”

Rumors of Tran and Sanders’ relationship first surfaced last year when Tran appeared in Deion Jr.’s vlog, showing the NFL Hall of Famer at the hospital for treatment related to blood clots.

The couple went “Instagram official” on December 2025 after the coach shared a picture to his IG Story with Tran.

In recent months, pictures surfaced of Tran being by Sanders’ side during his vulnerable moments.

Last July, in a video of Tran could be seen crying at his hospital bedside emotionally breaking down the play-by-play of his gallbladder removal surgery in the aftermath of his cancer diagnosis.

“We are dealing with bladder cancer.” Through tears she explains, “He is having his bladder removed and they will create a new bladder with one of his intestines.”

Since overcoming bladder cancer, Sanders has had complete removal and creation of a new prosthetic bladder. He is now back at full health and has a strong support system in place ahead of the 2026 football season.
