The battle between Aretha Franklin’s son over her estate is finally over.
We reported that after a 2014 written will was discovered in the couch cushions, a jury had deemed it valid. The late singer’s sons, Kecalf Franklin and Edward Franklin were fighting to get the 2014 will to be the correct will, however, her other son Ted White II, felt that the court should go by the 2010 will.
The brothers learned what they were awarded from their late mother’s will. Reports state that Kecalf was given the Detroit home that was reportedly valued at $1.1 million back in 2018 as well as Franklin’s crown jewel.
Edward and Teddy were also awarded homes respectively, one of them previously being sold for $ 300,000. Teddy’s lawyer stated that his client is currently requesting the proceeds from the sold house.
Aretha Franklin had a fourth house but it is set to be sold and all of her sons are expected to split the profits.
