Lennox recently released her second studio album, age/sex/location, this past September. It came three years after her 2019 debut, Shea Butter Baby. The album featured J.Cole on the track of the same name, BMO and Whipped Cream. It was also Lennox’s first platinum-certified release.

age/sex/location received raving reviews from fans. A few months after its drop, the singer revealed that she would embark on a tour of the same name starting January 2023. The tour included over 26 shows in North America.

In a turn of events, Ari Lennox has seemed to make it clear that she is fed up. In a tweet, she announced her decision “I love my genuine fans so much and can’t wait to give you my all every night!!” She also seemed to note the cause of her frustration, saying “Europe I love you but unfortunately there will not be a tour due to reasons out of my control.”

Lennox has always been very transparent with how much she does not enjoy the industry. Earlier this year, she tweeted about being fatigued with having a label. “I want to be dropped from the labels,” she said. “I’m done and tired. “

Luckily, fans are still getting new music from her. She just recently released a special Lennox twist on Rodgers & Hammerstein’s My Favorite Things just in time for the holidays. She also performed at the 2022 American Music Awards in a tribute performance to Lionel Richie.

The upcoming tour, produced by Live Nation Urban, kicks off at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas in January 2023.
