Beyoncé’s foundation BeyGood has donated $100,000 to the Houston Criminal Justice Clinic.

The donation was announced on Wednesday and it will go to the University of Houston Law Center’s Criminal Justice Clinic. UH Law Center dean, Leonard Baynes, said that the donation will help “establish a full-time criminal justice clinic while also boosting their already excellent programming.”

Reports state that the Criminal Justice Clinic is one of nine in-house clinics at the university and the BeyGOOD foundation will help them keep full-time staff and a director.

“At UH Law, we envision a legal profession where ‘everyone has the opportunity to prosper’, as BeyGOOD envisions, and we will achieve this vision by providing access to strong and effective legal representation in criminal proceedings,” Baynes said Wednesday.

“And together, through this gift, the BeyGOOD Foundation and UHLC will shepherd the next generation of criminal justice attorneys in the city of Houston, the state of Texas, and the nation.”

Beyoncé’s foundation was founded in 2013, and it has supported efforts including the Haiti earthquake recovery, pandemic-related programs, residents affected by the Flint water crisis, and more.

This is an amazing thing that BeyGOOD is doing! What are your thoughts on this?
