Bronny James, the 20-year-old rookie guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, marked a personal milestone Sunday. He celebrated his one-year anniversary with girlfriend Parker Whitfield in a sweet and low-key tribute on Instagram.
Pink-Coordinated Affection
In a mirror selfie posted to his Instagram Story, James puckered in a matching pink outfit beside Whitfield. He captioned it plainly, “Anniversary dinner,” followed by a kissing emoji. Whitfield reposted the photo and added three pink heart emojis on her Story.
The couple, who prefer to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, also shared a second affectionate image. This one featured them in matching swimsuits, with Bronny embracing Whitfield from behind, still in shades of pink.
From Paris to Public
Fans first speculated about their romance in August 2024 at the Paris Olympics, where the duo was seen together courtside during Team USA basketball games. They held hands in public and were accompanied by Bronny’s brother, Bryce James, and Bryce’s partner.
Whitfield, a college student and daughter of actors Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Dondré T. Whitfield, briefly acknowledged their relationship on social media. On National Boyfriend Day last fall, she posted “Bf day! i love you! @bronny.”
On the Court
James, selected 55th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, is currently balancing time between the Lakers and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. His rookie season brought modest NBA stats—about 2.3 points per game in 27 appearances—but he performs more impressively in the G League, averaging roughly 21.9 points per outing.
Off the court, a recent comment on Whitfield’s vacation photos drew notice when James gushed, “My girlfriend,” prompting fans to swoon.
