If anyone understands the cost of looking good, it’s Cardi B.
Following the conclusion of her trial, Cardi spoke with reporters and expressed her gratitude to the press “for being respectful to her during the proceedings.” Speaking in Spanish, Cardi was asked by a reporter about how many wigs she wore during the trial. She then revealed what she was going through to pull off her flawless style.
“I’m telling you guys, when I say that my forehead is raw from changing all these wigs,” Cardi said as the reporters laughed. “Raw, raw, raw, raw.”
The topic of Cardi B’s hair even came up while she testified during the trial. On Aug. 26, she was asked by the prosecution about the differences in her hair choices.
“Yesterday, you had black hair, short hair. Today it’s blonde and long,” Ron Rosen, the plaintiff’s lawyer, asked. “Which one is your real hair, or are they both real?
“They’re wigs,” Cardi replied.
On Tuesday (September 2), a Los Angeles jury cleared Cardi B in a $24 million lawsuit filed by a security guard who accused the rapper of assault during an alleged incident in 2018. Because of the ruling, Cardi B is not obligated to pay damages to plaintiff Emani Ellis, who sued the “Imaginary Playerz” rapper for alleged assault during an interaction at a medical office where Ellis was employed.
At the post-trial press conference, Cardi made it known that she will always defend herself in court.
“I work all day and I work hard for my money, for my kids, for the people that I take care of,” Cardi explained. “So don’t you ever think that you’re going to sue me, and I’m just going to settle.”
