Chloë Bailey will release her second album, Trouble In Paradise, on Friday August 9, 2024.
R&B artists Anderson .Paak and Jeremih will all be featured on the project in addition to her sister, Halle Bailey, 24, on the track “Want Me.” The track is a follow-up to 2023’s “In Pieces” and marks their first duet since their joint 2020 album Ungodly Hour.
“A storm is coming,” she wrote on Instagram, revealing the imminent release of Trouble in Paradise and its cover art depicting her in a neon dress laying down in a pool of water. Thus far, she’s put out a pair of singles including “FYS” and “Boy Bye,” which dropped to coincide with the singer’s Coachella performance back in April.
“I would love for you to be on the record.”
On the duet with Halle, she told Nylon magazine that it “felt like home” working together again. “We both have our own lives. She’s a mom now, we’re both traveling, we’re constantly passing each other in the sky. And I was like, ‘Sis, we’re going to be in New York at the same time, I would love for you to be on the record.’” There they were in the studio: Halle in the booth, Chlöe at the soundboard, and Halo in her lap. “It just felt like old times,” she said in the interview.
Earlier in the interview, Chloë described her relationship with her sister as “healthy competition.”
“I’m really grateful to have grown up in this industry with my sister because it’s like a built-in sisterhood [mindset], but healthy competition is amazing.”
“Trouble in Paradise” follows her debut solo album “In Pieces,” which released in March 2023. The project produced a series of singles including “Pray It Away,” “How Does It Feel” with Chris Brown and “Body Do,” and peaked at No. 119 on the Billboard 200. Elsewhere, she just appeared as a guest feature on the remix to Tinashe’s summer hit “Nasty.”
