She continued, “Be proud of who you are, little babies! I know I am!” Ruffin wrote. “And I can’t wait to be discriminated against for a new reason!!” After her announcement, Ruffin was embraced with love and support from friends and fans.

Niecy Nash’s wife, Jessica Betts, wrote, “We love you, Amber.” Actress Cynthia Ervio also wrote, “ Welcome baby love!! Bathrooms are to the left, refreshments to the right, grab a chair. The DJ takes requests.”

The 45-year-old comedian, was once married to Dutch painter, Jan Schiltmeijer from 2010 to 2023. They met in New York while Ruffin was performing with a theater caled Boom Chicago. She has since worked as a writer on NBC Late Night with Seth Meyers for 10 years, making her the first Black woman to do so. She also hosted her own show called, The Amber Ruffin Show, from 2021 to 2022.
