Michael B. Jordan, lead actor and director, revealed that a TV series focused on Adonis Creed’s daughter is forthcoming at Amazon.
Jordan confirmed the news in a November interview with Variety.
“We’re spinning off doing Adonis’s daughter, Amara’s story, the television show that’s picked up at Amazon. So you’ll be seeing different parts of the Creed-verse, I like to call it.” He continued, “These little IPs are going to keep the universe alive without it being completely reliant on just me to push it through the finish line every time as a boxer. I’ll be adjacent.”
Jordan has starred as the titular character, Adonis Creed, since it’s 2015 franchise debut. Creed, directed by Ryan Coogler, follows Donnie (Jordan) as he seeks to carve his own boxing legacy, distinct from his famous father, and finds a reluctant mentor in an aging and ailing Rocky (Stallone).
In Creed II, released 2018, Donnie moves up from light heavyweight to heavyweight, and enters a whole new class of competitors.
Amara Creed, Donnie’s daughter, was introduced to audiences in Creed III. Played by deaf actress Mila Davis-Kent, she quietly became one of the film’s emotional anchors.
The project marks the first time the long-running Rocky and Creed franchise will follow a story led by a female character.
In addition to Creed III, Amara’s character appeared in the 2023 BOOM! Studios‘ comic book “Creed: The Next Round” where she showed a great interest in her father’s boxing career. Hence the franchise would continue to follow the development of her career and the impact of her grandfather and father’s legacies.
The Creed-verse is also anticipating the fourth installment, Creed IV, to hit the big screen soon. Jordan confirmed with Variety that the project, which he said has been “kind” to him, is definitely forthcoming.
“Eventually, definitely. It’s a franchise that’s been really kind to me in a big way. I love MGM and Irwin Winkler and everything they’ve got going on. I think there’s a bit more story to be mined through that,” Jordan tells Variety, though he has a few caveats.
