Dawn Richard, one of the founding members of the platinum-selling girl group Danity Kane, said Friday she fears the group may never fully reunite after being left off the band’s current tour. The singer spoke candidly about deep disappointment and fractured relationships that still shadow the group.

Richard, who helped launch Danity Kane on MTV’s Making the Band in the early 2000s, said she was “iced out” of the recently launched Untold Chapter Tour, which now features only three of the original members. Richard’s absence, alongside fellow founding member Shannon Bex, has stirred intense reactions among fans who hoped for a full reunion.

“I wasn’t involved; I was iced out of this one,” Richard said during a recent podcast appearance. She acknowledged she was not part of the tour’s planning and had no control over the decision. “That’s a choice [they made],” she said, “but I’m not going to go back and forth and be messy.”

Tour Fallout and Fan Reaction

The Untold Chapter Tour began earlier this month with Aubrey O’Day, Aundrea Fimbres and D. Woods performing across the country. Fans quickly noticed the absence of Richard and Bex, prompting questions about what happened behind the scenes.

Richard said she is “saddened by the reality” that Danity Kane would not take the stage in its original five-person lineup. She rejected being portrayed as the “villain” in the situation, adding, “I’m nowhere near perfect, but I’m not the person they say I am.”

Despite the setback, Richard said she still holds love for the group and its legacy. On social media earlier this month, she wrote, “I will always be a yes to Danity Kane. That chapter lives in me forever.” Her message emphasized her affection for the music and the memories they share.

Richard’s comments underscore the complex dynamics that have shaped Danity Kane’s history. The group has split and reformed several times since its formation in 2005, but internal tensions have frequently surfaced.

While Richard did not dismiss the possibility of working with her bandmates again, she offered no assurances. “I wish it could be all five of us,” she said, “but I don’t know if we’ll ever get to a place where we mend fences and create together again.”

Other members have not publicly responded to Richard’s recent remarks. With tour dates ongoing, fans remain eager for more clarity on whether Danity Kane can reconcile its past and deliver the full reunion once envisioned.
