After going viral for yelling at her team before arriving at the 2025 Met Gala, Doechii breaks her silence about the moment.

The singer went on social media to address the situation in a TikTok video with the caption that read, “God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas.” She then added, “All jokes aside, this was such an overstimulating night, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! This was the night we all dreamed of, and my team killed it (umbrellas aside).

Doechii went on to show appreciation for her team and said that the theme of the Met Gala, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” meant a lot to her. “Everyone killed it. We nailed the theme, and a time was had.”

When the video went viral, social media users heavily criticized the singer for her treatment of her team after she was heard demanding umbrellas to avoid being seen in her outfit by cameras.

“I’m ready … No, stop, give me another umbrella, now!” Doechii in the video below. “And another one. Who has an umbrella? I need four fucking umbrellas … Because they’re gonna try to stick their f****g cameras in here. … Hold the umbrellas and do not let that fucking Velcro [unclear] fall.” One of her team members responded and said, “I will not!”

Doechii was also a part of the Gala’s Host Committee for the first time since 2019.
