Country music legend Dolly Parton has officially canceled her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, citing persistent health complications that have hindered her ability to perform.

The announcement comes after the residency had already faced an initial delay, as the 80-year-old singer continues to recover from issues related to kidney stones.

In a heartfelt message delivered to her fans, Parton explained that although her condition is improving, she is not yet physically capable of delivering the high-energy production her audience expects. The singer-songwriter noted that she has been “responding really well to meds and treatments” but emphasized that she still has significant healing to do before returning to the spotlight.

The residency was scheduled to take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. It would have marked Parton’s first major extended run on the Las Vegas Strip since the 1990s.

Parton used her signature humor to explain the difficulties of performing while navigating medical recovery. She specifically pointed to the physical demands of her wardrobe and stage presence as primary factors in her decision to step back. “I can’t be dizzy carrying around banjos, guitars, and such on 5-inch heels,” Parton said.

She further explained that her iconic look, which includes “all those heavy rhinestone outfits” and her signature “big hair,” requires a level of physical stamina she has not yet regained. The country icon’s battle with kidney stones has been a recurring challenge, but her team remains optimistic about her long-term recovery.

While no new dates have been announced, Parton reassured her supporters that she is on the mend. “I’ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way!” she said.

Representatives for Caesars Palace have not yet announced specific refund details or plans for a replacement act for the vacant dates.
