Dwayne Wade is all about self-care, but he falls second to Gabrielle Union when it comes to their routines.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Wade was asked if he or Union had a longer self-care routine.

“It would definitely be my wife,” Wade said, “100%. I’m not going to even come close to that.”

Wade went on to speak about the importance of having conversations about self-care and wellness.

“I’m a part of that conversation when we talk about all the wellness in the world. Mental wellness and spiritual wellness.. We’re in a time now where we’re having these conversations a lot more,” Wade said. “It allows for us to be a little bit more confident.”

Wade claims that women have always been better at self-care than men.

“I always feel like this: Women, y’all had the playbook the whole time. We should have been on the same book that you guys have been on when it comes to taking care of yourself,” he says with a laugh.

For his latest venture, Wade has also been named the global ambassador for Intuition by Aramis.

“When I played basketball, it was all about winning,” Wade said. “It was all about success.”

“It’s been a world that I’ve tried to be in for a very long time… I’ve always prided myself on fragrance, how I smell and what I use to enhance even my own natural scent,” says Wade.

“Intuition is everything that you feel. That’s your gut… trusting your instincts,” he added. “That’s what I’ve always given myself. The name represents who I am. I felt it was the perfect relationship.”

Wade also shared how his “inner confidence” comes forth through the fragrance.

“I feel like it brings out that little extra little swag in myself,” Wade explained.
