Wade elaborated on how nail painting reflects his creativity. “I’m creative, I’m expressive, and there’s so many ways to do that,” Wade said. The discussion soon turned to his future plans, with Wade revealing he might venture into the nail polish business. “I’m actually thinking about jumping into the nail line. I’ve been in it so long, and I’m like, you know what, it could be a good time. I got some cool ideas and I’m exploring,” he shared.

Wade attributed part of his interest to his relationship with his six-year-old daughter, Kaavia. Painting nails has become a bonding activity for them. “One of my favorite things to do is sitting down with my daughter and getting my nails painted and painting hers,” he said. “That’s the time that we get to connect. Me doing something that she loves and also that I love.”

Social Media Reactions

Despite Wade’s heartfelt reasons, social media reactions were mixed. Some users praised his expression and bond with his daughter. One supporter wrote, “So much insecurity here I hate to see it. I hope he goes through with [making a nail polish business]. Plus bonus content seeing him with his daughter melts my heart.”

However, others were critical, questioning his masculinity. Comments ranged from “We need more Black doctors, not a nail polish line,” to “Just come out already! What woman’s husband is talking about starting a nail polish business?” The reactions reflect broader societal issues about gender norms and expression.

Wade’s nail care interest is not new. On an episode of “The Wine Down” podcast, he revealed that Michael Jordan’s clear nail polish inspired him. “I saw MJ’s nails and MJ had clear polish on his nails,” Wade said. He initially hesitated due to societal pressures but eventually embraced it.

With ongoing exploration and conversations, Wade’s potential nail polish line could soon become a reality. His journey represents a step towards breaking traditional gender norms and celebrating personal expression.
