Earth, Wind & Fire, Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary are the first wave of performers being announced for the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration 25th Anniversary special. The star-studded live event will take place on February 7th. CBS will broadcast the one-hour special on Feb. 10 (8 p.m. ET).
Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and Tichina Arnold,the special will be taped during Super Bowl LVIII week in Las Vegas. The taping will take place at the Pearl Theater in the Palms Casino Resort. Also performing will be The Players Choir.
“Super Bowl Soulful Celebration is the ONLY inspirational music event sanctioned by the NFL for Super Bowl weekend,” reads an official description on the Soulful Celebration website. “This uplifting concert brings NFL players & award-winning musical artists together on one stage for an evening of joy and praise at the Biggest Game on Earth!”
For its 25th anniversary, the music special aims to blend soul music and football with performers and honorees.
“This event has been a labor of unwavering love and dedication, and it’s an immense honor that our 25th Anniversary will debut on a major broadcast network like CBS,” Melanie Few, founder of The Super Bowl Soulful Celebration, said.
The special is executive produced by Few alongside Emmy winner Adam Blackstone as the show’s musical director.
