Eve, the iconic rapper, actress, and TV personality, is set to reveal her story in a deeply personal memoir titled Who’s That Girl?
“I’m excited for people to get to know me on a deeper level,” Eve expressed in a statement, emphasizing that her story spans decades.
Described as “fearless, empowering, and inspirational,” the memoir promises to delve into Eve’s journey to fame as a pioneering female emcee and her profound influence on pop culture and fashion. It will also explore the challenges of balancing her personal life with her professional endeavors.
Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Eve’s memoir will authentically portray her journey from the Mill Creek Projects to Hollywood. It will recount her experiences as the First Lady of the Ruff Ryders hip-hop collective and her entry into the male-dominated industry as “Eve of Destruction.”
The book will feature untold anecdotes behind her groundbreaking albums, including the internal struggles leading up to Lip Lock, as well as her historic achievements, such as being the third female rapper to debut at the top of the Billboard 200.
Eve’s memoir will not shy away from her personal life. It will candidly discuss her romance with husband Maximillion Cooper and the challenges she faced on her path to motherhood, including fertility obstacles. Eve welcomed her son, Wilde Wolf, in February 2022.
Throughout her illustrious career, Eve has released four albums, starred in 15 films, executive produced her own sitcom, and co-hosted the Emmy-nominated talk show, The Talk.
Her collaborator, Kathy Iandoli, brings her expertise as an award-winning hip-hop journalist and author to the project. Iandoli has penned acclaimed works such as God Save the Queens: The Essential History of Women in Hip-Hop and Baby Girl: Better Known As Aaliyah.
Who’s That Girl? promises to be a compelling and revealing account of Eve’s life and legacy. It will be published by Hanover Square Press on September 17, 2024.
