The cast of “General Hospital” bid their farewells to their longtime castmate, the late Jackie Zeman.
Zeman played the character of Bobbie Spencer on the daytime soap opera for 45 years before passing away last Spring at the age of 75. The tribute will air on the show starting this week Wednesday.
According to reports, the show will share footage of Zeman’s 45 year career on the show as a nurse, mother, sister, grandmother as Bobbie Spencer. They will also show her early years and her last appearance in 2023 at the Nurses’ Ball.
Laura Wright, who played Zeman’s onscreen daughter, Carly Spencer said, “The funeral day is amazing and heartbreaking, as it should.” She then spoke about emotions that the cast was feeling while filming the character’s memorial.
“It’s amazing to see it unfold, to see the evolution, it really is a wow,” Wright said. “From the second we stepped on set, everyone showed up. You didn’t really have to dig deep. Everyone was there. We wanted to do right by Jackie, while we honored Bobbie. And then here was a big rainbow outside the studio that day, just out of nowhere. It just so was Jackie.”
The first two-part tribute special will start on Wednesday, January 10th on ABC.
