Ghostface Killah’s son, Infinite Coles, has released two new songs from his upcoming album that address their complicated relationship.
In one of the songs, “SweetFaceKillah”, Coles can be heard calling out his dad, who Coles has previously accused of being a deadbeat.
“How you in a Mack truck, but forget you a father/ I be seeing n***s hating, but I don’t even bother/ Is it me? Am I not your cup of tea?/ Are my pants not low, like your self-esteem?/ Do I need to f**k a bi**h, just so you could see?” Coles raps on the pulsing track.
“Sweetface Killah” is the first single off of Coles’ upcoming album of the same name due out in December. The title, Coles stated, is reclamation of a slur once aimed at him from social media users.
“At some point people were in my DMs calling me all types of names and ‘SweetFace Killah’ was one of them,” Coles told Vibe. “I was depressed at first, but then I was like, wait — they kinda ate that. So now that’s my album name.”
“It’s like the haters created an alter ego I never knew I needed,” he said. “‘SweetFace Killah’ is so strong and powerful and it’s just me poppin’ my shit.”
The other track, “Dad & I,” is more of a raw letter to his estranged father. “You never talk to me, said I’m not living right/ You tell me to man up, yea/ When I put on makeup, yea,” Coles sings. “You always asked for change but wouldn’t do your part/ Nobody’s perfect, no/ Can’t you see that I’m worth it?”
Coles said hasn’t seen his father in over a decade. In May 2023, he posted on Instagram calling Ghostface a “deadbeat” while pleading for contact. “My heart has been aching and longing to be love[d] by you, MY FATHER for way too long,” he wrote.
Coles mentioned in an interview with Crack that he developed a closer bond with his uncle RZA, than with his dad.
Despite the distance, Coles said he still loves his dad. “I love my father, I just wish we could connect and understand one another and respect each other,” Coles told VIBE.
Coles also clarified that these songs nor the album are a diss track towards Ghostface.
