Gilbert Arenas blames Tesla’s Cybertruck for his son’s, Alijah Arenas, car accident

The NBA legend spoke about his son’s condition on the recent episode of the “All The Smoke” podcast. “The car malfunctioned on him,” he said. “The steering wheel went limp and ran him right into a tree.”

He continued, “He couldn’t break the window. Physically, he said he was trying to kick the window in and couldn’t. If you’re a parent and your teen has this car, you might want to put a hammer in that joint.”

Arenas went on to say that he told his son how lucky he was to survive that accident. “I gave him that speech,” he said. “You’re a lucky one to see this. Most people don’t get to see the flowers and how everyone reacts when something happens… You can’t take this s**t for granted.”

Alijah Arenas’ car accident took place on April 24th when he was driving his Tesla Cybertruck. It later hit a tree and a fire hydrant in Los Angeles. Arenas was placed in a medically induced coma and treated for ingesting high levels of carbon dioxide.

Six days later, he was released from the hospital and was resting at home under close watch, according to his family. They wrote in a statement, “The Govan and Arenas family are preparing for the road ahead with faith and determination, committed to nurturing Alijah back to 100%. He remains blessed, resilient, and in high spirits.”
