Actress-singer Halle Bailey and rapper-YouTuber DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) have reached a significant resolution in their long-running custody dispute involving their son, Halo Saint. Court documents filed Monday show the former couple agreed to drop mutual domestic violence restraining-order requests and implement a temporary custody plan, putting an end to months of legal strife.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bailey will maintain primary physical custody of their son, while DDG will have designated visitation rights on Wednesdays and select weekends. The parties also established a holiday and special-event schedule to govern co-parenting during major occasions. A stipulation signed by both parties requires them to refrain from public disparagement of each other and prohibits sharing photographs or information about Halo online.

Background of Dispute

Bailey and DDG began dating in 2022 and welcomed their son, Halo, in December 2023. They announced their breakup in October 2024, stating they would remain co-parents despite the end of their romantic relationship. In May 2025, Bailey was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG, citing allegations of physical, verbal and emotional abuse, and was awarded temporary sole legal and physical custody of Halo. She claimed she “can no longer tolerate” the pattern of conduct.

Shortly after, DDG filed his own emergency motion seeking a restraining order and asking that Bailey be blocked from taking their son abroad, alleging she posed an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to the child. A judge denied that request in June.

In the joint filing, both parties reserved the right to re-file restraining orders in the event of any future incident. The stipulation states: “The parties each reserve his/her rights to resurrect any and all DV allegations.” While the agreement is labeled “temporary,” it represents a marked shift away from the acrimony that defined prior court filings.

For her part, Bailey released a statement saying she looks forward to “creating a healthy co-parenting environment” for Halo. DDG, who celebrated the agreement on social media, wrote: “It’s time for father and mother to come together for our son.”

Legal experts note the agreement may serve as a model for celebrity parents seeking to move from conflict to cooperation. One family-law attorney, speaking anonymously, observed: “What matters now is consistency and respect. The schedule is secondary if both parents focus on the child’s needs.”
