Jennifer Lopez seemingly suggested that her ex-husband, Marc Anthony, was not involved in raising their children.
Duringa an appearance on “SmartLess” podcast, Lopez spoke about watching her kids grow up and how she did most of the work by herself.
“Now, I can really look at my life, appreciate it for what it is and what I’ve created for myself, and be really happy. Both my kids got into all their colleges,” Lopez said. “They both got scholarships, and they’re going where they want to go.”
“‘You did that sh*t all by yourself.’ “That’s great,” she continued. ”Like, ‘You had very little help,’ you know?’”
The former couple was married for seven years before separating in 2011. Their divorce was finalized in 2014, with both parties sharing joint legal and physical custody of their children.
Before marrying Lopez, Anthony was already a father to four children from previous relationships. His children are Chase, 35, Arianna, 31, Cristian, 25, and Ryan, 22. He continued to expand his family after his marriage to Lopez, welcoming a son in 2023 with his wife, Nadia Ferreira. With Ferreira currently expecting their second child, Anthony is set to become a father of eight.
LOPEZ SPOKE ABOUT HER CHILDREN LEAVING HOME
Recently, Lopez shared that she “never thought” about life after her twins leave home. In August, the twins will begin their freshmen year in college.
“It’s an emotional time. It’s been the three of us,” she said on a recent episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” “People have come in and out of my life, but it’s been the three of us. They’ve always been there, and I’ve always been there.”
She continued, “I just never thought they would not be there. I just never thought that far ahead. And I thought, too, that they’re so independent. I’ve given them roots and wings.”
