Jonathan Majors has opened up about the aftereffects of his domestic violence case.
In an interview with RollingStone Africa, Majors, with his wife, Meagan Good, spoke about navigating his legal ordeal.
“I’ve walked through fire — publicly. And I won’t pretend otherwise,” Majors said. “What that season taught me is that a man is not what the headlines say he is. A man is what he does when the lights go out, and it’s just him and God.”
Adversity stripped me of everything I thought was mine,” Majors continued. “And gave me back only what was real: my faith, my wife, my craft, my purpose.”
Good spoke about how she maneuvered through her own difficulty.
“Every woman has survived something,” Good told RollingStone Africa. “My faith carried me through seasons I didn’t think I’d survive, and the other side of that valley is where I met the fullness of who I am and am still growing into — and, honestly, where I met my husband as the man God shaped him to be.”
In March 2023, Majors was arrested in New York City following a domestic dispute in a chauffeured vehicle with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The alleged incident reportedly began after she saw a romantic text message from another woman on his phone. In December 2023, a Manhattan jury found Majors guilty of one misdemeanor count of third-degree assault and one harassment violation. He was acquitted of intentional assault and aggravated harassment.
Following the guilty verdict, Marvel Studios and Disney immediately dropped Majors from his prominent role as Kang the Conqueror. In April 2024, he was sentenced to complete a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program in place of jail time.
Majors and Meagan Good publicly announced their engagement in November 2024 at Ebony magazine’s Power 100 event. Four months later, in March 2025, the couple officially married in an intimate private ceremony in Los Angeles.
