Only a few days after Warner Bros. announced the cancellation of Judge Mathis after 24 seasons, fans have been delivered some good news. The daytime show host is making a return with a brand new show on a brand new network.

Judge Mathis has landed amongst the team at Allen Media Group. The Byron Allen-owned media giant has greenlit the new series, Court with Judge Mathis. The court series will be a daily one-hour show. Set to release fall 2023, it will be available to broadcast television, global network, cable, as well as digital distribution platforms.

The new show will join Allen Media Group’s eight court series, which are carried on its network Justice Central. Among those are America’s Court with Judge Ross, Justice for All with Judge Cristina Perez, Justice with Judge Mablean, Supreme Justice with Judge Karen, The Verdict with Judge Hatchett, We the People with Judge Lauren Lake, as well as Equal Justice with Judge Eboni K. Williams.

“For years I’ve proudly watched Byron Allen build a first-class global media empire. After 24 years on the air, I can’t think of a better company to work with to create my next great chapter,” Mathis said in a statement.

Judge Mathis Show

Judge Mathis was the second longest-running court show in continued production with the same host. The top spot belongs to Judge Judy. Mathis’ series won the Daytime Emmy in 2018 for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program. It also won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding News, Talk or Information Series in 2004. Judge Greg Mathis is the longest-running Black male host on television. Throughout the show’s run, Judge Mathis handled over 13,000 cases on air. Unfortunately, Mathis’ series will end with Season 24.

“Judge Greg Mathis is an outstanding, charismatic, and iconic television host,” said Byron Allen. “We are extremely confident that our eighth and newest court series with Judge Mathis will be very successful for years to come as he joins our outstanding roster of talent.”
