Keke Palmer Criticized For Inviting Jonathan Majors On Podcast

Beloved actress and singer Keke Palmer is on the receiving end of backlash after revealing that the upcoming episode of her podcast will feature actor Jonathan Majors, who was earlier convicted of assault and harassment.

The next episode of her Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, titled, “No Easy Answers: Accountability and Moving Forward with Jonathan Majors,” is set to release April 8.  The description of the episode mentions accountability, acknowledging the complexities of forgiveness and justice in today’s culture. Listeners were quick to condemn the move, sparking debates of hypocrisy and accountability.

Fans of the Nope actress believe she has long been celebrated for her outspoken stance on protecting women from abuse. Adding to that, Palmer has also been a victim of domestic violence herself. With Majors appearing as a guest on her show, some feel this is a contradiction.

Detractors questioned Palmer’s judgment, with one user asking, “Why does she keep aligning with problematic men?” Another X user noted, “Jonathan Majors has only ever dated white women publicly (prior to Megan Good) yet has spent his entire redemption tour on Black women’s platforms.”

Meanwhile supporters struggled to understand the outrage. One X user wrote, “so let me get this straight—we’re mad at Keke Palmer for scheduling a sit down with Jonathan Majors? the interview hasn’t even happened yet and we’re angry? some of you need to go touch grass.” Another X user, doubled down on their loyalty to the actress, “I’m not canceling Keke Palmer.”

He has been back in the public eye in recent weeks amid the release of his movie Magazine Dreams, even appearing on the cover of the Hollywood Reporter. In the accompanying interview, he said of his time during and after the trial, “It’s a heartbreak like I’ve never experienced and it just compounded and compounded.” Matthew McConaughey, Michael B. Jordan, and Whoopi Goldberg all further voiced their support.
